ElectroRoute and Low Carbon have entered into four balancing power purchase agreements (PPAs) to facilitate market access and trading solutions for 140 MW of solar projects in the UK. The projects under the agreements include the 40 MW Birch solar farm, 49.9 MW Sandon Brook solar farm, 30 MW Fern Brook solar farm, and 18 MW Long Meadow solar farm. All four projects are owned and operated by Low Carbon.
As per the agreements, ElectroRoute will provide round-the-clock market access and trading services, aimed at optimising the output from these solar farms and ensuring the efficient delivery of renewable energy to the grid. On commissioning, the four projects are expected to generate enough green electricity to meet the annual needs of nearly 50,000 households.
Earlier, in March 2025, Low Carbon achieved commercial operation for a 76 MW solar portfolio in the Netherlands. This portfolio comprises four projects: 18 MW Havebos solar farm; 25 MW Werkhoven solar farm; 8 MW Keppelseweg solar farm and 25 MW Mariahoop solar farm. These assets were developed in collaboration with BELECTRIC GmbH.
