Juniper Green Energy has signed an agreement with First Solar for the procurement of 1 GW of advanced Series 7 FT1 cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaic (PV) modules. The modules will be supplied over a two-year period and deployed across Juniper Green Energy’s projects in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra in the upcoming financial year, according to a company statement.

The agreement supports Juniper Green Energy’s strategy to enhance domestic content in its projects. The modules will be manufactured at First Solar’s facility in Chennai, ensuring no reliance on China’s crystalline silicon supply chains.
