Hareet Shukla: Urbanization is an interminable phenomenon. With the overall population growth, urbanization will add another 2.5 billion people to traditional cities over the next three decades. Prospective technology in industrial smart cities can assist in operating more efficiently while improving services to citizens and businesses. Smart cities leverage information and communication technologies to enhance service levels, citizen well-being, sustainability, and economic development. Industrial smart cities like DICDL, make use of these technologies that can make cities more effective and efficient.

Hareet Shukla: Industrial smart cities stimulate economic outgrowth within the country providing higher efficiency resulting in unprecedented gains of productivity and competitiveness. Industrial smart cities have the capability to become the epicenter of knowledge, innovation, specialization of production and services, facilitate creative thinking and innovation. The high concentration of people in such cities generates more opportunities for interaction and communication, promotes creative thinking, creates knowledge spillovers, and develops new ideas and technologies thereby enhancing economic growth. An industrial smart city can benefit from such a conception thereby allowing individual firms to develop differentiated products at lower transaction costs.

Hareet Shukla: Thanks to the development occurring in the Internet of Things (IoT), there is a massive transformation of conventional cities to Industrial Smart Cities. In order to make effective decisions and enhance the quality of life, smart cities put data and digital technology to function. More extensive, real-time data gives companies the chance to view events that occur, understand how market trends change, and react appropriately with strategies that are faster and less expensive. A smart city holds prominence for a booming economy as services provided by these cities streamlines ways to meet the challenges of mobility, public services, and safety — while promoting sustainability. These tools are deployed to make services faster and easier that focus on cities’ most common concerns. All applications use the same mission-critical network and IoT infrastructure for greater security, efficiency, and scalability.

Urja Daily: The growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Smart cities in India? Impact of Digital Transformation on Industrial Smart City Development.

Hareet Shukla: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way cities operate, deliver, and maintain public amenities, from lighting and transportation to connectivity and health services, and is a retrofitted solution that works efficiently to integrate with the city services. AI is an indispensable tool already being used in the design and infrastructure management of cities, thereby efficiently scrutinizing data to generate predictions and cost-effective solutions to fuel industrial Smart City technologies. Cities with vast transit infrastructure and advanced integrated systems can benefit from AI.

AI is used in industrial smart cities to collect data to get insights and use them to manage these objects efficiently. These translate into higher performance, lower management costs, and better sustainability.

Urja Daily: How industrial smart cities can help build a sustainable India? The Future of Industrial Smart Cities in India. 

Hareet Shukla: Industrial smart cities aim to improve the quality of urban services or reduce their costs. It stands out for its specificities: smart management, lifestyle, mobility, housing, as well as a smart economy. Their main goal is to reconcile technological innovation with the economic, social, and ecological challenges of the city of tomorrow. Their main objective is maintaining the work-life balance and thereby providing a better quality of life: how to live better together while respecting our environment. In real terms, the industrial smart cities will help India maintain the triple-bottom-line i.e Economic Development, Environmental protection, and social development, and thereby develop a sustainable India.

Industrial smart cities will lead the economic growth in India and will drive the overall growth of the country in all sectors. It will be one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, and the aspiration to be among the top could soon be realized by industrial smart cities.
