Hindustan Zinc will procure 530 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) power from Serentica Renewables’ projects under a group captive arrangement. Hindustan Zinc will invest Rs 3.27 billion in Serentica and its affiliates, to acquire a 26 per cent stake. Serentica will develop captive projects across India to provide renewable energy to Hindustan Zinc over the next 25 years, with project commissioning occurring in phases from 2027. This involves two previous power delivery arrangements and has received the approval of Hindustan Zinc’s board of directors.

In July 2024, Hindustan Zinc initiated the first phase of integrating clean energy from Serentica Renewables’ Bikaner project in Rajasthan, signing power delivery agreements with Serentica to secure 450 MW of round-the-clock renewable energy, guaranteeing operational reliability and sustainability for its main business units.

In March 2024, Serentica Renewables inked its inaugural overseas commercial bank loan denominated in foreign currency, amounting to Rs 35 billion. This financing was intended for the implementation of its round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy initiative in India.
