Greenzo Energy Pvt Ltd has secured a deal to develop and install a 120 MW solar park project in Nepal. This engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract is valued at Rs 5 billion and is expected to boost Greenzo Energy’s order book to Rs 19 billion. The company will oversee the complete execution of the project.

The solar park will be developed in stages and is expected to be completed by 2025. The 120 MW capacity will be divided into 12 clusters of 10 MW each, connecting to the grid managed by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Furthermore, the energy generated will be transmitted via a new high-tension line. The project is anticipated to create over 500 jobs during its development and implementation phases.

Earlier in April 2024, Nepal took a significant step towards its clean energy goals by securing an investment of Rs 2.9 billion for the Upper Karnali Hydroelectric Power Project. This investment, provided by IREDA, granted IREDA a 10 per cent share in GMR Upper Karnali Hydro Power Limited and Karnali Transmission Company Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal.
