Solar racking solutions provider Chiko USA has received UL 3741 approval for both pitched and flat roof rail-based solar mounted systems, an industry first for the residential market. Based in Arizona, Chiko USA supplies solar mounting options including carports, pitched roofs, metal roofs and ground-mount solutions.

Chiko USA’s products passed a series of tests designed to simulate situations firefighters may encounter on solar roofs and reduce the hazards they face. With UL3741 approval, solar installers will have the option to use string invnerters without additional rapid shutdown devices and will not require optimizers or inverters, Chiko USA stated in a press release.

“We are incredibly proud to become the first solar racking company to achieve our UL 3741 approval for our pitched roof rail-based systems, and this is a testament to the years of hard work and dedication that our team has put in,” said Wayne Lee, VP of Sales, at Chiko USA. “This new achievement cements our position as one of the leading providers of innovative solar racking solutions while demonstrating our commitment to continuing to deliver exceptional products at an unbeatable price to our customers. Module Level Power Electronics including microinverters and optimizers are great, however, they are not needed on every install.”
