Avaada Group is set to invest Rs 50 billion to develop renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 1,000 MW across Bihar. The investment will be made under a MoU signed with the state government. The proposed projects include ground-mounted, floating, and community solar plants, along with battery energy storage systems.
As part of the agreement, the government of Bihar will assist the company in obtaining necessary approvals, clearances, and access to land and water bodies. The projects are expected to begin generation within two years of signing power purchase agreements with state agencies, and finalisation of land or water body allocations. Furthermore, the projects are expected to generate direct employment for 500 people. They are also eligible for incentives under the state’s renewable energy policy.
In April 2025, Avaada signed a MoU with the Maharashtra government to develop 3,650 MW of pumped storage hydro projects, including the 2,400 MW Pawana Falyan and 1,200 MW Sirsala projects, with a total estimated investment of Rs 151 billion.
