Ambuja Cement, part of the Adani Group, has commissioned and begun power transmission from its 200 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat. This project is expected to reduce the company’s electricity costs by 70 per cent. The Western Regional Load Dispatch Centre (WRLDC) granted standing clearance for the solar power project on December 12, 2024.
Ambuja Cement plans to commission an additional 806 MW of renewable energy capacity in phases between March and June 2025. This includes 156 MW of wind power from Khavada and 300 MW of solar power from Rajasthan by March 2025, with the remaining 350 MW scheduled for completion by June 2025.
