AM Green has signed a MoU with SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) for a long-term partnership to supply and source renewable energy. According to the agreement, SGEL will provide 4.5 GW of carbon-free energy to AM Green’s forthcoming green ammonia facilities in India. SGEL will develop this capacity using solar and wind power, and AM Green will incorporate it with pumped hydro storage to maintain a reliable supply of green energy to its facilities. SJVN intends to carry out the project in three phases, with the initial phase providing 1,500 MW within two years.

In June 2024, AM Green secured CertifHy EU RFNBO pre- certification for its green ammonia project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. By 2030, its production capacity will expand from one to five million tonnes per year of green ammonia.
