JSW Energy Limited has won a 125 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited in Kerala.
The project will be linked to the Mylatti 220 kV substation in Kasaragod and has been awarded at a tariff of Rs 441,000 per MW per month. It qualifies for viability gap funding of Rs 2.7 million per MWh or 30 per cent of the project’s capital cost, whichever is lower. The project is required to be commissioned within 15 months of signing the battery energy storage purchase agreement and can be implemented in up to three phases.
