NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has issued a tender for the development of a green hydrogen generation unit for a 1 MW green hydrogen mobility project in Kandla, Gujarat. Bidding is open to pre-selected manufacturers providing proton exchange membrane (PEM) and non-PEM technology systems. The deadline for bid submission is February 11, 2025.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit a deposit of Rs 2 million. The project must be commissioned within 240 days from the award, with a timeline of seven and a half months for completion. The responsibilities of the bidders include designing, engineering, delivering equipment, conducting safety studies such as hazard identification and risk assessment, providing electrical system charging, erecting project equipment, commissioning the systems, and performing project testing. Additionally, the bidders must secure land clearances, administrative approvals, and vendor finalisation for the project.
Earlier this month, NTPC REL signed a MoU with Deendayal Port Authority to set up a green hydrogen fueling station and deploy 11 hydrogen-powered buses at Kandla Port in Gujarat, aiming to phase out fossil fuel-based buses at the port.
